GRAYS HILL, SC (WTOC) - A purple top turnip weighs in at more than 7 pounds. Rev. Ben Barnes and his wife Sue grew the huge turnip in their garden in Grays Hill.
He said it's almost seven times as big as a normal turnip. Barnes said he grew up on a farm and has had a garden for years - and never saw a turnip this size. He said the secret is the compost he uses in the garden from all of the leaves.
