BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC)- Several lowcountry teachers will
not be out of a job even though their school will be shutting down at the end
of the year.
Half of the teaching staff at
Shell Point Elementary will be going to Broad River Elementary, while a handful
of the other teachers will be heading to Joseph S. Shanklin and Robert Smalls
Middle School.
District officials say they are trying
to have the teachers move with the students to their new schools. Right now,
the district is working to place office workers and other employees.
The building housing Shell Point
will be leased out to Riverview Charter School in the fall.
