Man fatally struck by SCHP patrol car

SEABROOK, SC (WTOC)- The
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision
involving an South Carolina Highway Patrol car and a pedestrian that occurred early Wednesday morning on SC Hwy 21.

Just
before 5 a.m. Wednesday deputies responded to the area of Hwy 21 (Trask Pkwy)
and Martin Lane on a report from a SCHP trooper about a collision between his
patrol car and a pedestrian.

Police: ER patient drives off in ambulance

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC)- A
St. Helena Island man who was at the emergency room at Beaufort Memorial
Hospital is accused of taking off in an ambulance.

Beaufort
police responded at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday on a report of an ambulance theft from
the emergency room entrance.

Police
said medics took Clifton McNeill, 34, of St. Helena Island, had
been transported to the hospital for a medical reason. He took out his I.V., walked
out of a treatment room and forced open the exit door of the emergency room,
according to police.

Shoplifting suspects sought in Beaufort

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC)- Beaufort police are
asking for the public's help in identifying a man and woman who are accused of
shoplifting.

Police said surveillance
cameras captured them taking DVDs and clothing items from the store without
paying on June 15.

BCSO: Man fatally struck on Hwy 21 by SCHP cruiser

SEABROOK, SC (WTOC)- U.S. Hwy 21 southbound in Beaufort County was closed for more than two hours Wednesday morning at Martin Lane due to a fatal wreck.

The man was walking down Highway 21 at about 4:50 a.m. Wednesday when he was struck by a South Carolina Highway Patrol car, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

BCSO to conduct traffic saftey checkpoint

Beaufort home damaged by fire

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - A Beaufort family has been put out of their home due to a fire Tuesday night.

The members of the Palmetto SC Region American Red Cross helped the two adults and two children who were affected.

The Red Cross provided the family with three nights of temporary lodging in a nearby hotel, financial assistance for food and clothing, and four kits that include hygiene items.

The Red Cross also referred the family to partner agencies to help them over the long term.
