BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC)- A Lowcountry man charged with stealing money from a fund-raising group has been released on bond.
On Wednesday, William Grooms was granted bond. Bluffton police said he took money from the Friends of Bluffton Dog Park. The non-profit group has been trying to raise money to bring a dog park to the area.
Police said he took more than $10,000 for personal use while serving as the group's president. He is being charged with breach of trust of more than $10,000.
